Through the years of wedding planning I found many brides add to the stress of their wedding day by the decision to lose weight and diet extremely to achieve a specific wedding dress size. While most of us do need to lose a few pounds, most significant weight loss takes a year or more to relinquish a dress size or two. Here are some weight loss concerns for brides-to-be:
1.Consider how grouchy you can be while dieting. This could reflect into your engagement time - and heaven forbid you become a Bridezilla. The body is detoxing as you begin to lose weight, the fat cells are leaching the toxic substances into your system. Sweating, detox products and high vegetable and fruit intake will help release these out of your system.
2. Move to green coffee or no coffee, check your dairy and gluten for allergies.
3. Lessen the alcohol or soda pop intake and immediately you will drop weight.
4. Remember alcohol, flour, potatoes also turn into sugar in your stomach.
5. Allow yourself one day a week to enjoy your favorites.
6. Fasting one day a week is not harmful, but this should not be an everyday thing.
7. If you are nursing a baby, please do not take pills nor any type of drug - it transfers to the milk.
8. Proteins keep us full longer. Greek Yogurt has 10 to 15 grahams.
Consider making an appointment with your doctor for good advice before beginning any diet.
9. Remember when you begin to eat the rich foods/drinks surrounding a rehearsal dinner or reception, you may feel nausea and/a headache. You are not used to this and your body tells you.
10. Working with weights in addition to the dieting can double the effects.

Selecting Your Wedding Dress
We find most shops offer an excellent wedding hostess to assist in gown selection. You do want to bring a friend, not the groom (because he will say anything looks great). It is rare to fall in love with the first dress you try on, but if that one continues to spark your interest after trying on many, do not hesitate to go back and order it....after several other shopping trips. Most dresses have to be ordered and re-sized by a seamstress. It is best to go to a bridal shop that has a seamstress on staff.
Most of us have an image of how and what will help us look trimmer in our clothing. Possible some of the following will assist in giving additional perspective on the choice of wedding dresses. So much has to do with height, bust size and age and weight of our arms and yes, color. White is an expansive color to any figure, so you may want to consider different shades of color, less frills, a sleek, elegant style and one where you will feel comfortable and un-chaffed all day, able to move with elegance. When large shoulders, being buxom and heavy arms are part of the concerns, we suggest less is better for wedding veils, puffed sleeves and cleavage exhibition. The wedding veil with tons of tulle, and/or hat may not be what you want.
